"God has in these last days spoken to us by His Son"(Heb 1:2). God is speaking. Are you listening? He is not speaking through mystical voices or signs in the sky. Jesus said, "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him-the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day"(John 12:48). He is speaking through the words He spoke almost 2000 years ago, recorded in the Bible. God is speaking. Are you listening? The words He is saying are not just want we want to hear or what we think is right. They are not the psychobabble of "find your own truth." "The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life"(John 6:63). "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me"(John 14:6). God is not asking us what we think, but telling us what to think. God is speaking. Are you listening? God's omniscient mind is closed to us without His revelation. "For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God"(1 Cor 2:11). However, by His tremendous grace, He has told us all we need to know to please Him-"God has revealed them to us through His Spirit"(1 Cor 2:10). Inspired men wrote down His words (Eph 3:3-5), and we now possess "all things that pertain to life and godliness"(2 Pet 1:3). God is sharing His mind with you and telling you all you need to know to have eternal life. Are you listening? Many Bibles sit idly collecting dust, unopened and unnoticed. God is speaking. Are you listening? God has promised to save those who believe in and obey His Son Jesus. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God"(Eph 2:8-9). "And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him"(Heb 5:9). He wants you to trust Him rather than your own intelligence and goodness. He wants you to do His will rather than your own. Jesus, what shall we do? "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; he who does not believe will be condemned"(Mark 16:16). Are you listening? God wants us to continue serving Jesus with all our hearts. He requires sweeping changes in our lives (Eph 4-6) or we will not please Him. He demands consistent faithfulness (Col 1:23). He despises lukewarm, hypocritical, outward-only religion. "But why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?"(Luke 6:46). Jesus is speaking to you. Are you listening? Many "Christians" are mere lifetime members of the "Church Club." Jesus' voice calls through the centuries to call us to real faith, real obedience, real change, and real commitment.
